Mackenzie Investments and The Globe and Mail present Tim Wu

Is a free and open internet a given? Will the internet forever be a sinlge network open to all and free for all?

Not so, according to Tim Wu, whose groundbreaking book The Master Switch reminds us that every information industry, beginning with the telephone, has eventually been captured by some monopoly or cartel. Tim Wu is the Columbia University professor who's been recognized by Scientific American as one of the Top 50 leaders in science and technology, as well as one of Harvard's 100 most influential graduates. He writes for The New Yorker, The New York Times and The Washington Post, and chairs the media reform group Free Press.
